Tamworth Scaffolding was established, with their 1st large project Ventura Retail Park, Tamworth which consisted of access scaffold for the construction of the new Ventura Retail Park, the Snowdome then followed on where we still carry out works to the present day.
Our first heritage project was a full wrap around the main body of the church for roofing works and stone repairs, following on from the success of this project Tamworth Scaffolding Co Ltd started to specialise in this particular field.
Now being well established in the heritage sector we were chosen to carry out the full scaffolding package on this high-profile project, which was part of the redevelopment of the Bullring.
In 2009 The team were busy on heritage projects around the Midland region, most notably working on the remains of Coventry Cathedral, which was destroyed in the blitz of WW2, and also a large church project in Radford Seleme which was the victim of an arson attack.
In 2010 Tamworth Scaffolding Co Ltd became full contracting members of the NASC and continue to be up to the present day.
An amazing opportunity came to work on one of the Caribbean islands, Tamworth Scaffolding Co Ltd continued to do work in Mustique for a further 4 years.
2015 brought more success in the heritage sector with a large project at Derby Cathedral which was carried out over 3 phases:
2015 also saw us carry out another large-scale temporary roof over the grade 1 listed Swan Wing Theatre at RSC Stratford Upon Avon.
Following on from the success of our project at The Swan Wing RSC we were selected to carry out the scaffolding works for the redevelopment of the grade 2 listed Falcon Hotel (now Hotel Indigo) in the centre of Stratford Upon Avon.
With our expertise in the heritage sector now very well established we were selected after competitive tender to design and erect a free-standing mason’s scaffold complete with lifting rigs to this scheduled ancient monument.
The popular music festival Wireless had the team working on the erection of numerous public access staircases on a tight deadline for access and egress for festival goers! From Crystal Palace Park the team travelled to Alexander Palace, London and erected another public access staircase for the renowned Red Bull Soapbox Race.
We have been working at Middleton Hall on and off for the last 20 years, but this was our largest project to date ‘Restoration of the Great Hall roof’. The project consisted of a freestanding designed access scaffold and HAKI temporary roof. Another grade 2 listed building to add to Tamworth Scaffolding's portfolio of heritage projects over the last 30 years.
